Mary, I hate to tell you this, but it might help. If there's any question about hospitalization, DO IT. The main difference between mortality rates in kids for the regular vs swine flu is that most swine flu deaths occur because they didn't keep them hydrated enough soon enough. I know you don't want to be thinking about mortality rates, but my husband and I have talked about this recently and the research bears him out. It it's a choice, go to the hospital and start fluids!

Sorry I'm late in commenting. I'm recovering from my own bout of pneumonia. I hope she is all better by now and avoided the hospital! As illnesses go, this fall/winter is full of suckage so far!
