Don't ya just hate:
1. "Easy open" cans, the type that pop up and pull back to take the whole top off? Not only can't I open the damn things in the first place, but of course the bottom is tapered so I can't use a can opener on them? I end up using my can opener anyway, because I NEVER take the tops all the way off; I cut them most of the way around and just push them back down when I'm done and they are rinsed off. That way, the whole thing gets recycled, and nobody cuts any fingers or toes off on the can top.
2. FedEx drivers like mine who NEVER ring the doorbell so I don't discover my package has been out in the rain for hours when I've been home the whole damn time?
3. FedEx (sense a trend?) delivering a package that looks like they ran over it with one of their trucks?
4. Parents who only want their girls to be in Girl Scouts so they have a babysitter for an hour a week and won't participate or help out at all an entire year?
5. Anytime your DH calls taking care of your OWN kids "babysitting"? (Oh, you SO don't want to get me started on this)
6. Four year olds (almost five) who won't get their damn shoes on when they are told to? Or do anything else they're told, for that matter? (well, I don't hate HIM, just his actions, at the moment)
7. Mortgage brokers who call and tie up your answering machine, which cuts them off after 45 seconds, leaving several messages because they want to better your interest rate (which is already better than the one they are quoting) and when you call to find out how they got your name and politely notify them that you are on the Do-Not-Call Registry, try to tell you that you are no longer on it, but then you double-check and find your own name on the registry? It's a good thing no one is taking my blood pressure right now, I'll tell you that. Just for reference, your number is only on the registry for 5 years; however, it has only been in existence for 3; I checked this afternoon.
8. the AARP, who really can't figure out how old anyone is and decides to harass them anyway? BigDaddyFish got a letter today advising him that "AARP notices that you haven't taken advantage of all the wonderful benefits of joining the AARP, and you are fully eligible...." Uh, BDF is 35. I called AARP and asked to be removed from the list for at least 20 years (though if they really went by RETIREMENT age, we can be bother free for at least 32 more years).
What are your favorite random rants?
