Nemo woke up in the middle of last night with the telltale bark of the croup cough. We steamed him up and nursed him through til morning, and today I took him in to the pediatrician.
He has bronchiolitis.
I have a nebulizer for him, but I am not sure I know when to use it - the instructions are every 4-6 hours AS NEEDED. How do I know he needs it?
I am terrified of anything that involves difficulty breathing. Trout had bronchiolitis when she was 3 months old - I didn't sleep for three days, as I stayed up watching her breathe.
As I will be doing with Nemo tonight.
He is supposed to be baptized on Sunday. I hope we don't end up needing to do it earlier.
Please pray for him.
Don't be stingy with it. He'll need the help to breath. If you find that the albuterol makes him hyper or jittery, ask your doc to switch to Xopenex.
Good luck - I've been there, and I know it sucks!

Albuterol is what I carry in my purse, and keeps me from fish-flopping :-) I am glad that it gave Nemo relief, too!
