I hope everyone who celebrates them had a wonderful Passover last week and Easter this week. It's going to take me a bit to recover from mine. I somehow managed to cook dinner for us and my inlaws after getting only 1.5 hours of sleep the night before - it was marginally successful, the food was good, and we only had about 4 tantrums, including Nemo screaming for probably an hour because I didn't get him fed on time and he wanted Mommy. Only Mommy. But Mommy needed to cook. I was pulled two ways and it was fairly awful. But the food was good, and we can eat on that ham and the other stuff for at least a week.
But all of this, all of the minor troubles going on here in The Pond are trivial. They are minor, just a blip on the radar screen of life. They can be borne, because my kids? Are alive. But last week, one the LA Moms lost her 17 month old to some sort of respiratory problem. Yesterday afternoon, one of our Deep South Moms lost her son, though it's not clear yet what happened. This is too much. Too, too much to bear in such a short amount of time.
Please, take a moment to visit them, to let them know that all of us mothers, all of us, are mourning the loss of their beautiful babies with them. And go love up your own kids, which is what I will be doing all day, dishes and laundry be damned.
Amen
