This is a quick note, just in case you don't follow me on Twitter (FishPondBlog) or you either aren't my friend on Facebook or know me in real life (in both cases, why not? I don't bite, unless...never mind), swine flu is making its way through our house, and Trout's has developed into pneumonia. I'll be back to being funny or depressing or obnoxious or whatever once everyone is well. This is a big deal, she looks awful, and we're right now just praying she'll make it through without having to be hospitalized. It doesn't look real promising right now. We'd appreciate any thoughts and prayers you're willing to offer.
I hope that she recovers soon, and doesn't need to be hospitalized.
Take good care of yourself and all the sick little fishes.

Oh no, I'm so sorry. You have my very best thoughts that everyone gets to stay at home and gets better very, very soon.

Mary, I hate to tell you this, but it might help. If there's any question about hospitalization, DO IT. The main difference between mortality rates in kids for the regular vs swine flu is that most swine flu deaths occur because they didn't keep them hydrated enough soon enough. I know you don't want to be thinking about mortality rates, but my husband and I have talked about this recently and the research bears him out. It it's a choice, go to the hospital and start fluids!
I hope it's not that bad. good luck

Sorry I'm late in commenting. I'm recovering from my own bout of pneumonia. I hope she is all better by now and avoided the hospital! As illnesses go, this fall/winter is full of suckage so far!
