I typed up a whole long post, but typepad ate it, so let me 'splain; no, too long, let me sum up:
Buttercup is marrying...no, not that sum up.
We survived the school year. No one got left behind. A couple of kids won a couple of awards or six. (SIX!) One kid is so rocking the heck out of the summer math packet that he/she was given three grades worth to do. Don't know what we'll do with that kid next year, but I suppose we'll cross that bridge when we get there. I didn't have a nervous breakdown, though there are moments when that outcome was questionable.
I've slept in almost every day for a week. It has been everything I dreamed it could be.
It won't last forever. There are camps to get up for, trips, VBS. A camping trip to go get bit up by different mosquitoes than those that live out back. Another surgery for Nemo before summer's end, to allow for recovery before school starts, and lots of doctors and therapy appointments to help him start school and be the best Nemo he can be.
But I'm enjoying it while it lasts.
I do not think that word means what you think it means.
Makes me giggle every time.
I loved our first relaxed week of summer. I gave us all permission to just be couch potatoes and hang out. Now we're back at, full tilt. It was nice while it lasted.
